Someone at either the borough or county council should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for letting these community planters 'go to seed' in Ormskirk.
They were created in memory of local historian Tony Daly and unveiled around nine years ago near his Burscough Road home.
County council staff used to weed and maintain them but the weather's taken its toll and they are now in a very bad state of repair with a cursory attempt by someone to hold one together with a metal plate attached.
A great shame that what should be a welcome sight at the entrance to the town from Burscough St. should be so shabby and neglected...
QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall's established that at least the plaque's safe at an old friend's home nearby.
